Ingredients
- 1 gallon apple cider
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 4 cinnamon sticks, plus more, to taste, for garnish
- 1 tablespoon whole allspice berries
- 4 whole star anise pods
- 2 cups bourbon
- 1 cup ginger liqueur
Directions
Step 1 -In a large, heavy pot, add the cider and the maple syrup and stir to combine.
Step 2 -Add 4 of the cinnamon sticks, the allspice, and the star anise to the cider mixture.
Step 3 -Cover the pot and place it over medium-low heat.
Step 4 -Bring the cider mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
Step 5 -Gently simmer the cider mixture for 30 minutes.
Step 6 -Add the bourbon and the ginger liqueur to the cider mixture and stir to combine.
Step 7 -Serve garnished with the extra cinnamon sticks.
