Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups 2% milk
- 1 (8-ounce) loaf French bread, sliced to 1-inch thickness
- oil, to taste, for frying
Directions
Step 1 -In a small bowl, mix the sugar and the cinnamon until they are blended.
Step 2 -In a large shallow dish, whisk the eggs and the milk together.
Step 3 -Dip both sides of the bread in the egg mixture until they are lightly soaked.
Step 4 -In an electric skillet, heat 1-inch of the oil to 350 degrees F.
Step 5 -Working in batches, transfer the bread from the egg mixture, allowing the excess to drain, and fry in the oil until they are golden-brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Step 6 -Drain the French toast slices on paper towels.
Step 7 -Dip the warm French toast slices in the cinnamon sugar and toss to coat on all sides.
Step 8 -Serve.
