Shake up a little tropical getaway with this Mai Tai recipe. With a blend of white rum, dark rum, and curaçao, all the best island-based liquors are represented. Orgeat, an almond-based alcohol, adds a delightfully nutty flavor. Drink your Mai Tai poolside–or at least close your eyes and pretend you’re poolside.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces white rum
- 3/4 ounce orange curaçao
- 3/4 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
- 1/2 ounce orgeat
- ice, for shaking and for the glass
- 1/2 ounce dark rum
- lime wheel, optional, for garnish
- mint sprig, optional, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Add the white rum, curaçao, lime juice, and orgeat into a shaker with ice.
Step 2 -Shake lightly for a few seconds.
Step 3 -Pour the mixture into a glass on the rocks.
Step 4 -Pour the dark rum over the top.
Step 5 -Garnish with mint and lime. Serve!
