Ingredients
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F if using tostada shells or 375 degrees F if using the corn tortillas.
In a large skillet, cook the beef while crumbling until no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes.
Carefully drain the excess fat from the skillet.
Add the water and the taco seasoning to the cooked meat.
Simmer the meat mixture until thickened, about 5 minutes.
While the meat is cooking, heat the refried beans in the microwave or on the stovetop until heated through.
Place the tostada shells on a baking sheet and bake until warm and fragrant, about 5 minutes. If using corn tortillas, brush each side of the tortilla with olive oil and sprinkle it generously with salt. Bake the seasoned tortillas for 4 minutes and then flip. Continue baking until browned and crisp, about 5-7 minutes.
Carefully transfer the warmed shells from the oven.
Spoon the heated refried beans onto the shells followed by the meat.
Top the meat with your preferred toppings.
Serve.
