Ingredients
- 3/4-1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 small onion, chopped
- salt, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
- 1 (16-ounce) package frozen tater tots
- 1 (10.75-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
- 2/3 cup 2% milk or water
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Grease a 2-quart baking dish.
Step 3 -In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the beef and the onion, while crumbling the meat, until the beef is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 4 -Drain the fat from the skillet.
Step 5 -Season the meat mixture with the salt and the pepper.
Step 6 -Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
Step 7 -Top the beef mixture with the tater tots.
Step 8 -Combine the cream of mushroom soup and the milk.
Step 9 -Pour the soup mixture over the tots.
Step 10 -Sprinkle the tots with the cheese.
Step 11 -Bake, uncovered, until the tots are heated through and the cheese is melty and bubbly, about 30-40 minutes.
Step 12 -Serve.
