Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups onion, chopped
- 1 cup barbeque sauce, homemade or store-bought
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- hot pepper sauce, to taste
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
- salt, to taste
- ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 (3-pound) pork shoulder roast
Directions
Step 1 -Mix the onion, the barbeque sauce, the celery, the water, the ketchup, the honey, the brown sugar, the Worcestershire sauce, the garlic, the hot pepper sauce, the chili powder, the salt, and the pepper in a slow cooker until thoroughly combined.
Step 2 -Place the pork roast in the center of the slow cooker, spooning the sauce over the top.
Step 3 -Cook on low until the pork is tender and can be easily pulled apart with a fork, about 7-8 hours.
Step 4 -Transfer the fork to a cutting board and shred it with two forks.
Step 5 -Return the shredded meat to the sauce and coat thoroughly.
Step 6 -Serve.
