Layer upon layer of chicken, roast beef, and salami ensure there isn't a meatier sandwich in existence, and rows of fresh fragrant basil and smooth garlic oil bring more fantastic flavor to the forefront. In fact, Picnic Sammies have so many layers you'll need to use entire hollowed-out loaves to make sure everything fits... just like how you'll want to cram every last bit of enjoyment out of your picnic. These sandwiches will ensure lunch is always the best part of the day!

Ingredients
- 2 (1-pound) unsliced loaves of Italian bread
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, divided
- 1/2 pound deli roast beef
- 12 slices part-skim mozzarella cheese
- 16 fresh basil leaves
- 3 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1/4 pound salami, thinly sliced
- 1 (6.5-ounce) jar marinated artichoke hearts, drained and sliced
- 1 (10-ounce) package salad greens
- 8 ounces deli chicken, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Directions
Step 1 -Cut the bread loaves in half horizontally.
Step 2 -Hollow out the tops and bottoms of the loaves, leaving 1/2-inch shells. Reserve the bread scraps for another use or discard.
Step 3 -Combine the olive oil and the garlic. Brush the oil-garlic mixture on the inside of the bread shells.
Step 4 -Sprinkle the inside of the bread shells with 1 teaspoon of the Italian seasoning.
Step 5 -Layer the bottom of each of the loaves with 1/4 of the roast beef, 1/4 of the mozzarella, 1/4 of the basil, 1/4 of the tomatoes, 1/4 of the salami, 1/4 of the artichokes, 1/4 of the salad greens, 1/4 of the chicken, and 1/4 of the onions.
Step 6 -Repeat the layers 3 times with the remaining loaves and the remaining ingredients.
Step 7 -Season the sandwich filling with the salt, the pepper, and the remaining Italian seasoning.
Step 8 -Drizzle the sandwich fillings with any of the remaining oil-garlic mixture.
Step 9 -Replace the bread tops.
Step 10 -Wrap them tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Step 11 -Slice into individual servings and serve.
