You don't have to be from the South to appreciate a good Southern-style breakfast. This Loaded Grits Bake is the ultimate comforting item on anyone's breakfast request menu! The grits are seasoned just right and come with melted cheeses mixed in and melded on top to create such a Southerly brunch-worthy masterpiece. Some always-craved bacon makes this bake a step above the rest. Y'all don't even have to say "y'all" to enjoy this Loaded Grits Bake. But if you want to, we certainly understand! Enjoy, y'all!

Ingredients
- 6 thick-sliced bacon strips, chopped
- 3 cups chicken stock
- 3 cups water
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups quick-cooking grits
- 2 1/3 cups Velveeta® cheese, cubed
- 1/2 cup butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup 2% milk
- 4 large eggs, lightly beaten, room temperature
- 2 cups white cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Step 3 -In a large saucepan over medium heat, add the bacon and cook until crisp.
Step 4 -Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bacon to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain.
Step 5 -Use a sharp knife to chop the bacon into small pieces.
Step 6 -In the same large saucepan with the bacon drippings, add the chicken stock, the water, the garlic powder, and the black pepper and bring to a boil.
Step 7 -Slowly add the grits to the chicken stock mixture and stir to combine.
Step 8 -Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook the grits mixture, covered and stirring occasionally, until it thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 9 -Transfer the grits mixture from heat.
Step 10 -Add the Velveeta cheese cubes and the butter to the grits mixture and stir until the cheese and the butter have melted.
Step 11 -Add the milk.
Step 12 -Slowly add the eggs to the grits mixture and stir until blended.
Step 13 -Transfer the grits mixture to the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with the white cheddar cheese.
Step 14 -Bake the grits mixture until the edges are golden-brown and the cheese has melted, about 40-45 minutes.
Step 15 -Let the grits bake stand, about 10 minutes.
Step 16 -Serve.
