And we actually mean a quick minute. Just season, brown, butter, and bake and you're on your way to a delicious, 5-star steak experience. You may not have the official chef's attire (or maybe you do), but either way, you will experience fine dining in no time with this Fancy Garlic Butter Filet Mignon. Ingredients
- 4 (4-6 ounce) filet mignon steaks
- salt, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 tablespoons neutral-flavored oil, such as safflower oil, canola oil, grapeseed oil, or peanut oil
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 4 sprigs fresh rosemary
Directions
Step 1 -Let the steaks sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Step 2 -Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
Step 3 -Season the steaks with the salt and the black pepper on both sides.
Step 4 -In a cast iron skillet over high heat, heat the oil.
Step 5 -In a single layer, transfer the steaks to the oil and cook until they are browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Step 6 -Add the butter to the steaks and cook until it melts.
Step 7 -Add the garlic and the rosemary to the melted butter, stir to combine, and spoon over the steaks.
Step 8 -Insert an oven-safe instant thermometer into the thickest part of one of the steaks and bake until they reach an internal temperature of at least 135 degrees F for a medium-cooked steak.
Step 9 -Let the steaks rest until they reach an internal temperature of at least 145 degrees F, about 5 minutes.
Step 10 -Spoon the pan drippings over the steak, plate, and serve immediately.
