Whether you make them for a party or for yourself on a summer day, Crispy Crab Bites are impossible to resist. And that’s before you dunk them in tartar sauce!

Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh crab meat, drained and cartilage removed
- 1 package crab cake mix
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- tartar sauce, optional, for serving
Directions
Step 1 -Combine the crab meat, crab cake mix, and mayonnaise in a large bowl by gently tossing it together.
Step 2 -Form the crab mixture into 1 inch round balls.
Step 3 -In a small pot on the stovetop, heat the oil.
Step 4 -Once the oil is hot, fry the crab balls in batches until golden brown, about 3 minutes.
Step 5 -Once golden brown, remove the balls from the oil and drain them on paper towels.
Step 6 -Serve with tartar sauce.
