Ingredients
- 10 ounces fettuccine pasta
- 5 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled, deveined, and tails removed
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
Directions
Step 1 -Cook the pasta in salted water according to the package directions.
Step 2 -Melt 4 tablespoons of the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
Step 3 -Add the cream to the butter and simmer until it has just thickened, about 4-5 minutes. Do not let the cream boil.
Step 4 -Whisk the parmesan cheese into the cream mixture, stirring continuously, until the cheese has melted.
Step 5 -Season the sauce with the salt and the pepper.
Step 6 -Heat the remaining butter in a large pan over medium heat.
Step 7 -Add the shrimp to the melted butter and sauté, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp are pink, opaque, and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 8 -Add the garlic to the shrimp and cook until it is fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Step 9 -Drain the pasta and toss it with the alfredo sauce.
Step 10 -Arrange the shrimp on top of the pasta and sprinkle it with the parsley.
Step 11 -Serve.
