Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 cups whole milk
- 3 cups cheddar, shredded
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 2 large heads broccoli, cut into small florets
- 3 cups chicken, cooked and shredded
- 1 (16.3-ounce) can refrigerated biscuits
- 2 teaspoons ranch seasoning mix
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
Step 3 -In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crispy, about 8 minutes, then drain on a paper-towel-lined plate. Wipe the skillet clean.
Step 4 -In the same skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
Step 5 -Whisk the flour into the melted butter and cook until bubbly, about 1 minute.
Step 6 -Gradually stir the milk into the flour mixture and bring to a simmer. Cook until thickened, about 2 minutes.
Step 7 -Whisk the cheese into the flour mixture and cook until melted, 1 minute.
Step 8 -Season the cheese mixture with the salt and the pepper and stir in the broccoli. Transfer the cheese mixture from the heat.
Step 9 -Spread the broccoli mixture into the bottom of the baking dish, then top with the chicken.
Step 10 -Cut each biscuit into eighths and scatter them on top of the chicken.
Step 11 -Chop the bacon into small pieces and scatter them on top of the biscuits, then sprinkle with the ranch seasoning.
Step 12 -Bake until the biscuits are golden and cooked through, about 25 minutes.
Step 13 -Serve.
