The chicken in the center is truly juicy and savory, with a fantastically malty taste thanks to being cooked in beer. A beer-cheese sauce also never hurts anybody with its rich, creamy, sharp flavor! And then it's served on a warm pretzel roll?! It's going to be a rollicking good time with Best Pub Sliders! Raise a glass to them!

Ingredients
- For the chicken:
- 1 pound chicken breasts
- 12 ounces beer, of your choice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- pretzel rolls, to taste, halved
- Dijon mustard, to taste, for serving
- For the beer-cheese sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 cup beer
- 1/2 cup milk
- 8 ounces cheddar, freshly grated
- 2 tablespoons chives, chopped
Directions
Step 1 -Add the chicken, 12 ounces of the beer, the garlic, the salt, and the pepper to a slow cooker.
Step 2 -Cover the slow cooker and cook until the chicken is tender and cooked through, about 4 hours on high and 8 hours on low.
Step 3 -Transfer the chicken from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
Step 4 -Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F.
Step 5 -In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
Step 6 -Add the flour to the melted butter and cook, while whisking, until smooth and golden, about 2 minutes.
Step 7 -Add the remaining beer and the milk and cook, while whisking constantly, until the sauce is smooth and thick, about 5 minutes.
Step 8 -Reduce the heat to low.
Step 9 -Gradually add the cheddar to the sauce mixture, adding it in batches and stirring until the cheese is melted before adding more.
Step 10 -Add the chives and stir to combine.
Step 11 -Transfer the saucepan from the heat.
Step 12 -On a baking sheet, bake the pretzel rolls until warmed, about 10-15 minutes.
Step 13 -Spread the Dijon mustard on the inside of the top of each bun.
Step 14 -Place the chicken on the bottom of each bun and cover it generously with the cheese sauce.
Step 15 -Replace the tops of the buns and serve.
