Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- butter, to taste
- 1 cup yellow onions, diced
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 3/4 cup real bacon bits, divided
- 3 cups mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend, shredded
- 1 (12-ounce) can refrigerated biscuits
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 -Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Step 3 -In a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and the butter, and cook, while crumbling, until the meat is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 4 -Drain the excess grease from the pan and adjust the stovetop heat to medium-low.
Step 5 -Add the onions to the meat mixture and cook, stirring well, about 2 minutes.
Step 6 -Add the cheese soup, the ketchup, and the mustard to the meat mixture and stir until all the ingredients are fully combined.
Step 7 -Add the salt, the pepper, the garlic powder, and the onion powder to the meat mixture and stir well.
Step 8 -Add 1/2 cup of the bacon bits to the meat mixture and stir well.
Step 9 -Add the meat mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
Step 10 -Sprinkle the meat mixture with the cheese and the remaining bacon bits.
Step 11 -Cut the biscuits into 6 pieces each and evenly spread them over the meat mixture.
Step 12 -Bake until the biscuits are browned on top, about 18-20 minutes.
Step 13 -Let the casserole sit for 5 minutes.
Step 14 -Slice and serve.
