Ingredients
- For the garlic-butter:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- For the sandwiches:
- 12 ounces spaghetti
- 8 slices Texas toast
- 8 slices mozzarella cheese
- 1 1/3 cups spaghetti sauce, homemade or store-bought
Directions
Step 1 -In a bowl, add the butter, the minced garlic, the garlic powder, and the Italian seasoning and stir to combine.
Step 2 -Set the garlic-butter aside.
Step 3 -In a large pot of salted, boiling water, add the spaghetti and cook it to al dente, according to the package directions.
Step 4 -Drain the spaghetti.
Step 5 -Spread the garlic-butter on 1 side of each of the Texas toast slices.
Step 6 -In a large pan over low heat, add 4 slices of the Texas toast, butter-side down. You may need to toast them in batches to avoid overcrowding.
Step 7 -Place 1 slice of the mozzarella on each of the Texas toast slices in the pan.
Step 8 -Evenly add the cooked spaghetti and the spaghetti sauce to each of the Texas Toast slices in the pan. Then, top each with 1 slice of the remaining mozzarella cheese.
Step 9 -Close the sandwiches with the remaining slices of the Texas toast, butter-side up.
Step 10 -Cover the pan with a lid and let the sandwiches cook until the cheese melts and the bottom slices brown, about 3-5 minutes.
Step 11 -Flip the sandwiches and toast until the reverse side is browned, about 3 minutes.
Step 12 -Transfer the sandwiches from the heat and let them rest for 1-3 minutes.
Step 13 -Optionally slice and serve.
