Don't be caught out in left field, hit a grand slam with these tangy tomato and creamy sauce-covered noodles. They don't stop there either! No, they're in the dugout with a double layer of melted salty cheese. No foul balls or strikeouts here! This designated hitter is an out-of-the-kitchen kind of homerun! After its big-league debut at your table, you will definitely be nominated for the "golden hot pad" award and get inducted into the "dinner-saving" hall of fame. It doesn't get any better than that... folks, that's a winner!

Ingredients
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 1 1/4 pounds ground chuck
- 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 1/4 cups small curd cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 3 -In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the egg noodles to al dente, according to the package directions. Drain.
Step 4 -While the noodles are cooking, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground chuck, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess grease.
Step 5 -Reduce the heat to medium-low, add the tomato sauce, the salt, and the black pepper to the ground chuck and simmer, stirring occasionally, until it is heated through.
Step 6 -In a large bowl, add the sour cream and the cottage cheese and mix well.
Step 7 -Add the black pepper to the sour cream mixture and mix well.
Step 8 -Add the cooked noodles to the sour cream mixture and mix well.
Step 9 -Add the green onions to the noodle mixture and mix well.
Step 10 -Pour 1/2 of the noodle mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Step 11 -Evenly layer 1/2 of the ground chuck mixture on top of the noodle layer.
Step 12 -Evenly sprinkle 1/2 of the cheddar cheese on top of the meat layer.
Step 13 -Repeat the noodle layer, the meat layer, and the cheddar cheese layer once.
Step 14 -Bake the noodle mixture until the cheese has melted, about 20 minutes.
Step 15 -Let the bake rest.
Step 16 -Plate and serve.
