The base consists of the same fudgy, chocolatey goodness you'd expect from a good brownie, but on top is where the real magic happens. Multiple layers of rich, creamy, fluffy and silky-smooth yumminess are packed with chocolate flavor to really push these brownies to the next level. You can easily see how delicious Silk Brownies are with just one glance, but trust us, you're going to want to take your time eating them!

Ingredients
- For the brownies:
- 1 (10.25-ounce) box dry brownie mix
- 1 egg
- 5 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup milk
- For the silk layer:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed
- 8 ounces frozen whipped topping
- For the topping:
- 8 ounces frozen whipped topping
- chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips, optional, for topping
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 -Grease a 7x11-inch or 2-quart glass baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 3 -In a medium mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, the egg, the melted butter, and the milk, stirring until smooth.
Step 4 -Spread the batter into the prepared baking dish.
Step 5 -Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 25-28 minutes.
Step 6 -Transfer the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely to room temperature.
Step 7 -In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and the vanilla extract with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Step 8 -Add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture and mix until combined.
Step 9 -In a small microwave-safe bowl, heat the semi-sweet chocolate and the cubed butter in 30 second intervals until melted, stirring well between each cooking interval.
Step 10 -Add the melted chocolate mixture to the cream cheese mixture and stir until well-combined.
Step 11 -Gently fold in 8 ounces of the frozen whipped topping.
Step 12 -Spread the silk layer over the cooled brownies.
Step 13 -Spread the remaining frozen whipped topping on top of the silk layer.
Step 14 -Sprinkle the chocolate shavings over the brownies.
Step 15 -Slice the brownies into squares.
Step 16 -Serve.
