Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 (25 ounce) jar marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup vegetable broth
- 6 lasagna noodles, not no-boil
- 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
- 1 (8 ounce) package mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, optional, chopped, for garnish
- 2 tablespoons parsley, optional, chopped, for garnish
Directions
Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Step 2 -Spray an 8x12-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
Step 3 -Heat a 12-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 4 -Add the beef, stirring and breaking it up, until cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
Step 5 -Remove the skillet from the heat.
Step 6 -Stir in the marinara sauce and vegetable broth.
Step 7 -Spread 1/3 of the marinara-meat sauce into the bottom of the baking dish.
Step 8 -Top with 3 of the uncooked lasagna noodles.
Step 9 -Spread 1/2 of the ricotta over the noodles by using the back of a spoon.
Step 10 -Top the ricotta evenly with 1/2 of the mozzarella and 1/2 of the parmesan.
Step 11 -Add another 1/3 of the sauce.
Step 12 -Add 3 more uncooked lasagna noodles.
Step 13 -Spread evenly with the remaining 1/2 of the ricotta.
Step 14 -Pour in and spread the last 1/3 of the sauce.
Step 15 -Top with remaining 1/2 of the mozzarella and parmesan.
Step 16 -Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and bake for about 35 minutes.
Step 17 -Remove foil and continue to bake uncovered until the lasagna is just tender, about 10 minutes.
Step 18 -Let the lasagna rest for 5 minutes before digging in.
Step 19 -Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve.
