Ingredients

  • For the cake:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
  • For the streusel:
  • 1 cup walnuts, optional, chopped
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions

Step 1 -Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 2 -In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3 -In a large bowl, add the eggs, sugar, butter, and vanilla.

Step 4 -Beat the wet ingredient mixture until it begins to come together.

Step 5 -Add the dry ingredients. Mix until just moist.

Step 6 -Add the sour cream. Mix until smooth but be careful not to overmix.

Step 7 -In a bowl, mix together the walnuts, the brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.

Step 8 -Spray a 10-inch tube pan with baking spray.

Step 9 -Spoon 1/2 the batter into the bottom of the pan, spreading it until even.

Step 10 -Sprinkle it with about 1/2 of the streusel.

Step 11 -Add another layer of batter and another layer of streusel to the tube pan.

Step 12 -Bake for 40-50 minutes.

Step 13 -Cool completely before serving.
