Turtle Cookies sound just as cute to talk about as they are delicious to eat. The combination of chocolate, caramel, and pecans just works: crunchy, rich, buttery, sugary, and nutty all at once. Baked into a melt-in-your-mouth, brown sugar dough, the key flavors of Turtle Cookies become even more luxurious and luscious. Whatever your holiday traditions, adding Turtle Cookies will only make them happier!

Ingredients

2 1/4 cups flour, unsifted
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
12 ounces chocolate chips, semi-sweet
3/4 cup pecans, chopped
3/4 cup caramel, finely chopped
milk, optional, for serving

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Step 2

In a medium-sized bowl stir together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl beat the butter, sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer until creamy and lightened in color.

Step 4

Add the eggs and vanilla to the butter mixture, adding the eggs one at a time and mixing between each addition.

Step 5

Mix on low speed until everything is incorporated.

Step 6

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, blending slowly and being careful not to over-mix.

Step 7

Fold in the chocolate chips, pecans, and caramel.

Step 8

Using a tablespoon, drop the batter onto an ungreased cookie sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between the drops of dough so the cookies have room to grow.

Step 9

Bake until lightly browned, about 9-11 minutes.

Step 10

Let cool slightly and serve with glasses of cold milk!
