1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground mustard
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 pound top sirloin steak


Step 1

In a shallow dish, combine the soy sauce, canola oil, brown sugar, ground mustard, ground ginger, and garlic powder.

Step 2

Add the steak to the sauce mixture, turning to coat.

Step 3

Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours and up to overnight.

Step 4

Preheat the grill to medium heat.

Step 5

Drain the steaks and discard the marinade.

Step 6

Grill the steaks, covered, until they reach the desired doneness, reading 135 degrees F for medium-rare or 140 degrees F for medium when checked with a meat thermometer, about 5-8 minutes on each side.

Step 7

Serve hot.
