This Asian-inspired pork dish is a flavor explosion! Sweet Sticky Pork is perfectly caramelized and covered in a thick, tangy, savory sauce. Ingredients

1 teaspoon cooking oil
1/2 onion, finely chopped
2 pounds pork butt or boneless ribs, chopped into chunks
1-2 cups water, starting with 1 cup and adding more as needed
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons fish sauce
white rice, optional, cooked, for serving
green onions, optional, for garnish
sesame seeds, optional, for garnish
red pepper, optional, for garnish

Directions

Step 1

Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high on the stove-top.

Step 2

Cook the onions and pork until the meat is browned, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

Add 1 cup of the water, the soy sauce, the sugar, and the fish sauce to the skillet.

Step 4

Bring the mixture to a boil and then the lower heat.

Step 5

Simmer until the sauce has thickened and caramelized, about 30 minutes-1 hour.

Step 6

Stir and serve over rice, topped with green onions, sesame seeds, and red pepper.
