Slow Cooker Cheesy Chicken, Bacon, & Tater Tot Bake

Everyone loves a good tater tot and bacon casserole. It’s so delicious that the only way it could be better is if it cooked itself. Slow Cooker Cheesy Chicken, Bacon, & Tater Tot Bake does exactly that, so you know it’s pretty amazing! After all, it’s sharp cheese, bacon, and savory chicken in every bite, nestled in with crispy, fluffy tater tots. It may just be all the best parts of food all together in a slow cooker. Ingredients

• 6 slices thick-cut bacon • 1 (32 ounce) bag frozen tater tots • 2 cups cheddar cheese or Colby Jack blend, shredded • 3 large chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, and cut into 1-inch cubes • 3/4 teaspoon salt • 1/2 teaspoon pepper • 1 teaspoon garlic powder • 1 teaspoon onion powder • 2/3 cup milk, 2% or whole milk

Directions

Step 1

Heat a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

Place the bacon in the skillet and cook the bacon until crispy.

Step 3

Remove the bacon from the skillet and drain on top of a paper towel.

Step 4

Let cool, and then crumble the bacon.

Step 5

Spray the pot of a slow cooker with non-stick spray.

Step 6

Place half of the tater tots in an even layer in the slow cooker.

Step 7

Top the layer of frozen tater tots with 1/3 of the cheese and 1/2 of the crumbled bacon.

Step 8

Place the chicken on top of the cheese and bacon layer.

Step 9

Season the chicken with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Step 10

Spread 1/3 of the cheese on top of the seasoned chicken.

Step 11

Place the remaining tater tots over the cheese in an even layer.

Step 12

Top with the remaining 1/3 of the cheese and the remaining bacon.

Step 13

Pour the milk over the top of the entire dish.

Step 14

Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on high until the chicken is cooked through, about 3 hours.

Step 15

Serve warm!
