Potluck Spareribs are welcome at any cookout, where they’re guaranteed to impress! The ribs are tender and savory, coated in a sticky, sweet, and tangy sauce just caramelized on the meat. Potluck Spareribs are messy and marvelous, exactly what you want served alongside cookout staples like mac and cheese and potato salad. Don’t worry, there won’t be any leftovers of these ribs.
Ingredients• 6 pounds pork spareribs • 1 1/2 cups ketchup • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed • 1/2 cup white vinegar • 1/2 cup honey • 1/3 cup soy sauce • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger • 1 teaspoon salt • 3/4 teaspoon ground mustard • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Cut the ribs into serving-sized pieces.
Place the ribs, meat side up, on racks in 2 greased 9x13-inch baking pans.
Cover the pans tightly with foil.
Bake the ribs until tender and cooked to 145 degrees F, about 1 hour 15 minutes.
Remove the racks.
Drain the fat and return the ribs to the pans.
In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, white vinegar, honey, soy sauce, ground ginger, salt, ground mustard, garlic powder, and pepper.
Pour the sauce mixture over the ribs.
Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, until the sauce coats and clings to the ribs, basting occasionally, about 30-40 minutes.
The ribs can also be grilled over medium-hot heat for the last 30-40 minutes instead of baking.
