Old-Fashioned Cherry Cheesecake

Old-Fashioned Cherry Cheesecake is the cherry on top of a tasty meal! This delicious cheesecake is quite literally topped with cherries from sweet cherry pie filling. This dessert is rich, creamy, and delicious with a bright fruit flavor. Old-Fashioned Cherry Cheesecake is a classic dessert that serves parties of all sizes; you can even save the leftovers for a sprinkle of sweetness throughout the week!


1 3/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 1/4 cups sugar, divided
3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Add the graham cracker crumbs, butter, and 1/4 cup of the sugar together in a mixing bowl, combining until a sandy mixture forms.

Step 3

Press the crust mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.

Step 4

Beat in the cream cheese and the remaining 1 cup of the sugar into a large mixing bowl using a hand mixer until it is completely blended.

Step 5

Add in the sour cream and vanilla, mixing well.

Step 6

Add in the eggs one at a time, beating them at a low speed after every egg is added until just mixed.

Step 7

Pour the custard over the crust.

Step 8

Bake until the center of the cheesecake is barely set, about 1 hours-1hr 10 minutes.

Step 9

Run a knife around the rim of the pan to loosen the cake and allow it to cool before removing the rim of the springform.

Step 10

Refrigerate the cheesecake for about 4 hours to completely set it.

Step 11

Garnish the cheesecake with the cherry pie filling before serving.
