Nothing says spring cocktail quite like the Mint Julep. The refreshing coolness of the mint makes this the drink for enjoying out in the sun or by the water. With just a pleasant buzz and a touch of sweetness, a Mint Julep is the best of sitting back and relaxing beverages. It takes so little effort and time to make you can begin relaxing even before your first sip!
Ingredients
• 3/4 ounce simple syrup
• 8-10 mint leaves
• crushed ice, enough to fill a glass
• 2 ounces bourbon
• soda water, optional, for topping
Directions
Step 1
Add the simple syrup and mint leaves to a glass, muddling the leaves until they break down.
Step 2
Fill the glass with the crushed ice.
Step 3
Add the bourbon.
Step 4
Top the cocktail with the soda water and stir gently prior to serving.
