Mario's Pizza Puffs make for a delicious snack that will leave you happy and satisfied, as much as a slice of pizza would! Each bite contains golden pizza dough, melted mozzarella cheese, and a spicy and savory pepperoni slice! Pair Mario’s Pizza Puffs with your favorite dipping sauce for maximum delight!
Ingredients
• 1 pound frozen pizza dough, thawed • 20 slices pepperoni • 8 ounces part-skim mozzarella cheese, cut into 20 cubes • 1/4 cup butter • 2 small cloves garlic, minced • salt, to taste • marinara sauce, to taste, warmed • red pepper flakes, optional, crushed, for topping • parmesan cheese, optional, to taste, grated, for toppingDirections
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Grease 2 baking sheets.
Shape the dough into 1 1/2-inch balls.
Flatten the dough balls into 1/8-inch thick circles.
Place 1 pepperoni slice and 1 cheese cube in the center of each circle.
Wrap the dough around the pepperoni and cheese, pinching the edges to seal it.
Shape the dough into a ball again.
Repeat the filling and sealing process with the remaining dough, cheese, and pepperoni.
Place the balls seam side down on the prepared baking sheets.
Bake until light golden brown, about 10-15 minutes.
Cool the puffs slightly.
Melt butter over low heat in a small saucepan.
Add the garlic and salt, taking care not to brown the butter or the garlic.
Brush the butter mixture over the puffs.
Serve the puffs with the marinara sauce, sprinkled with the red pepper flakes and parmesan.
