Bring rich New Orleans flavors to your very own kitchen with this Jambalaya. Tender chicken and shrimp are mixed with rice and veggies, and seasoned with the perfect amount of spice! Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1/3 cup celery, chopped
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
2/3 cup long-grain white rice
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
1 bay leaf
2/3 cup chicken breast, diced and cooked
2/3 cup Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
2/3 cup shrimp, peeled and cooked

Directions

Step 1

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat on the stove-top.

Step 2

Stir in the onion, celery, and green pepper, and cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

Pour in the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, and rice.

Step 4

Season the dish with the basil, garlic powder, pepper, hot sauce, and the bay leaf.

Step 5

Bring the pan to a boil over medium-high heat.

Step 6

Turn the heat to medium-low and cover the dish.

Step 7

Simmer until the rice is cooked according to package directions.

Step 8

When the rice has cooked, mix in the chicken, sausage, and shrimp.

Step 9

Simmer until everything is heated through, about 2 minutes.

Step 10

Take out the bay leaf before serving.
