Homemade Whipped Cream

Store-bought whipped cream has nothing on Homemade Whipped Cream! Homemade Whipped Cream is fluffier, fresher, and just the right amount of sweet. It isn’t even hard to whip up (see what we did there) Homemade Whipped Cream and it can be done in a literal 5-minute flash, so you can have it ready for any occasion, whether that’s a fresh-baked pie or a pot of hot chocolate. You’ll be tempted to eat this with a spoon once you have it ready!


2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup heavy cream or heavy whipping cream, cold


Step 1

Add the sugar, vanilla, and heavy cream to a glass or metal bowl.

Step 2

Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to whip the cream on high until soft or stiff peaks form, depending on your preference, about 2-3 minutes. Stop the mixer occasionally to test the stiffness of the peaks and to avoid over whipping.

Step 3

Serve atop your favorite hot beverage or dessert!
