kosher salt, to taste
1 pound fettuccine
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup parmesan, freshly grated, plus more for sprinkling
freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped


Step 1

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to package instructions.

Step 2

Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water then drain.

Step 3

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the cream and butter.

Step 4

Cook until the butter is melted and the cream is heated through, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

Whisk in the parmesan and season with salt and pepper.

Step 6

Add the cooked pasta and toss until coated in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add the reserved pasta water, 1 tablespoon at a time.

Step 7

Garnish with the parsley and serve immediately.
