Ingredients
Directions
Place the chicken thighs on a cutting board and pat them dry with a paper towel.
In a small mixing bowl, combine the garlic powder, chipotle powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper to create a rub.
Massage the rub into the chicken thighs.
Allow the chicken to rest for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors of the rub.
Preheat the grill for direct medium-high heat.
Once preheated, place the chicken skin-side-down on the grill over direct heat for 4-5 minutes to crisp the skin.
Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
Flip the chicken once more and move it to indirect heat.
Brush the chicken with the barbeque sauce, spreading it evenly over the chicken thighs.
Cover the grill and allow the sauce to thicken for 2-3 minutes.
Check the chicken to ensure it has cooked to 165 degrees F internally.
Remove the chicken thighs and allow to them rest for about 5 minutes before coating them with more barbeque sauce as desired.
Serve warm.
