Fruit Pizza

We tend to think of pizza as a dinner or lunch food, but with a slight shift in ingredients you can create a dessert perfect for sharing! Fruit Pizza has the hearty and irresistible crust of a pizza but is topped with a sweet and creamy sauce perfect for accenting the flavor of fruits. And the best part is Fruit Pizza is topped with your favorite fruits so you always have the flavors you love most for a sweet treat!


Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
For the topping:
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1/2 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
fresh fruit, of your choice, to taste

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Cream together the butter and the 3/4 cup of the sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth.

Step 3

Add the egg.

Step 4

In a separate mixing bowl, combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.

Step 5

Add the flour mixture to the butter and sugar mixture until just combined, careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Press the dough into an ungreased pizza pan.

Step 7

Bake the crust until golden, about 8-10 minutes.

Step 8

Remove the crust from the oven.

Step 9

While the pizza crust cools, beat the cream cheese, the 1/2 cup of the sugar, and the vanilla together in a large mixing bowl.

Step 10

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly onto the cooled crust.

Step 11

Arrange your favorite fruit on top in a pattern of your choice and allow it to cool in the refrigerator.

Step 12

Serve once cooled.
