Thick, smooth, rich, and fruity, Easy Slow Cooker Apple Butter is exactly what you want to be smeared on biscuits, toast, fruit…really anything you want! Easy Slow Cooker Apple Butter is sweet with just a hint of autumnal spice to get you smiling. It’s also easy to make, as it essentially cooks itself. This is also a great gift for housewarming parties or to bring with you to brunch!


Ingredients

6 large Honeycrisp, gala, or ambrosia apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
1/3 cup raw sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon allspice
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions

Step 1

Place the apples in a slow cooker.

Step 2

Top the apples with the sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg and mix well.

Step 3

Cover and cook, stirring once halfway through, until the apples are tender and dark brown, about 5 hours on high or 10 hours on low.

Step 4

Uncover and puree the apples with an immersion blender.

Step 5

Cook on high, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 2 hours.

Step 6

Serve or spoon into jars, cover, and refrigerate.
