Dr. Pepper Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Add the sliced onion to the bottom of the slow cooker.
Season the roast by rubbing the outside of it with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Place the seasoned roast into the slow cooker on top of the onions.
Pour the can of Dr. Pepper over the pork.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 7-8 hours. The meat will be very tender.
Using tongs, take the roast out of the slow cooker and place it onto a large rimmed baking pan.
Using 2 forks, shred the pork.
Add the shredded pork back into the slow cooker with the juices.
Pour the barbecue sauce into the slow cooker and stir until it is well combined with the pork and the juices and cooking liquid.
Place the lid back on the slow cooker and cook on low until warmed through, about 30 minutes.
Serve warm.
