Copycat Cracker Barrel® Fried Apples

In a large skillet, add bacon drippings and heat over medium heat on the stove-top until melted.
Add the apples to the skillet and spread them in an even layer over the bottom of the skillet.
Drizzle the lemon juice evenly over the apples.
Sprinkle the brown sugar and salt on top, and mix to make sure it is evenly incorporated.
Place a lid on the skillet and cook over low heat until the apples are tender and juicy, about 15 minutes.
Sprinkle the top with the cinnamon and nutmeg.
Serve warm and enjoy!
