Ingredients

For the cookie dough:
1 1/2 cups butter, softened
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
3 1/4 cups graham crackers, crushed
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/3 cup milk
1 1/3 cups mini chocolate chips
For the whipped cream:
1 cup mini chocolate chips, plus more for topping
2 (8-ounce) packages imitation whipped topping, thawed
8 chocolate chip cookies, plus more for topping
For the pudding:
2 (3.4-ounce) boxes instant chocolate pudding mix
4 cups milk, cold

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.

Step 2

Mix in the graham crackers, salt, and milk.

Step 3

Fold in 1 1/3 cups of mini chocolate chips.

Step 4

Crumble the cookie dough mixture and pour 1/3 of it into the bottom of a trifle dish.

Step 5

Mix 1 cup mini chocolate chips and the imitation whipped topping together.

Step 6

Pour 1/3 of the whipped topping mixture on top of the cookie dough in the trifle dish.

Step 7

Add a third of the cookies in an even layer to the trifle dish.

Step 8

Combine the pudding mix and milk, whisking until the granules have completely dissolved.

Step 9

Let the pudding set, for about 5 minutes.

Step 10

Pour a third of the pudding mixture on top of the cookies in the trifle dish, using a knife to make sure it is smooth and even.

Step 11

Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the trifle dish.

Step 12

Cover the trifle with the remaining whipped cream mixture.

Step 13

Refrigerate the trifle until the cookies have softened, at least 2 hours.
