1 (10-pound) whole turkey, neck and giblets removed
4 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons seasoned salt
1/2 cup butter
2 (12-ounce) cans cola-flavored carbonated beverage
1 apple, quartered
1 onion, quartered
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon ground black pepper

Step 1

Preheat your smoker to 225-250 degrees F.

Step 2

Rinse the turkey under cold water, then pat dry.

Step 3

Rub the crushed garlic all over the outside of the turkey. Sprinkle with seasoned salt.

Step 4

Set the turkey in a disposable roasting pan.

Step 5

Mix the cola, butter, onion, apple, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and salt.

Step 6

Then, fill the turkey cavity up with the cola mixture.

Step 7

Loosely cover the turkey with foil.

Step 8

Place the turkey in the smoker, smoking until the internal temperature reads 180 degrees F when measured in the thickest part of the thigh, for 10 hours.

Step 9

Baste the turkey every 1-2 hours with the juices from the bottom of the roasting pan.

Step 10

Let the turkey rest for a few minutes to ensure maximum juiciness, then serve!
