• 16 ounces kielbasa sausage, sliced into even circles • 1 tablespoon onion powder • 2 cups canned chicken broth • 8 ounces rigatoni pasta • 1/2 cup milk • salt, to taste • pepper, to taste • 1 1/2 cups Colby Jack cheese, shredded and dividedDirections
In a large greased skillet over medium-high heat, cook the kielbasa and onion powder until the sausage is lightly browned, about 3 minutes.
Add the chicken broth and pasta to the skillet, stirring to combine.
Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce the heat to medium.
Transfer 2 tablespoons of the warm chicken broth and slowly whisk it into a bowl with the milk.
When the milk is warmed up, add it to the skillet.
Simmer the mixture until the pasta is thoroughly cooked, about 15 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in 1 cup of the cheese until melted.
Top with the remaining cheese and serve.
