8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
salt, to taste
ground black pepper, to taste
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon dried basil


Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2

Season the chicken generously with salt and pepper.

Step 3

In an oven-proof skillet (such as a cast iron), melt 2 tablespoons of butter.

Step 4

Cook the chicken skin-side down until golden.

Step 5

Remove the chicken from the skillet and place it on a plate.

Step 6

Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet.

Step 7

Add the garlic and cook until fragrant.

Step 8

Turn off the heat source.

Step 9

Add the brown sugar, honey, oregano, thyme, and basil to the garlic butter and stir to combine.

Step 10

Add the chicken back in the skillet, and place it in the oven to cook for 25-30 minutes.

Step 11

Serve warm over any side of your choice.
