Ingredients• 1 (1-pound) loaf of herb or cheesy bakery bread, cubed • 1 pound bulk pork sausage • 1 medium green pepper, chopped • 1 medium onion, chopped • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded • 6 large eggs • 1 teaspoon ground mustard • 2 cups milk, 2%
Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Place the bread cubes in the baking dish.
In a large skillet, cook and crumble the sausage with the green pepper and onion over medium-high heat until the sausage is no longer pink and the veggies are tender, for about 5-7 minutes.
With a slotted spoon, place the sausage mixture over the bread cubes.
Sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, ground mustard, and milk.
Pour the egg mixture over the top of the sausage mixture.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours and up to overnight.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Bake the strata uncovered until a knife or toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 30-35 minutes.
Let the strata sit for 5 minutes before cutting.
Cut and serve.
