In a small mixing bowl, add together the paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, salt, white pepper, black pepper, thyme, oregano, and basil.
Brush the salmon filets on both sides with 1/4 cup of the butter.
Sprinkle the filets evenly with the seasoning mixture.
Drizzle 1/2 of the remaining butter on one side of each of the salmon filets.
In a large, heavy skillet over high heat, cook the salmon, placing the salmon butter side down, until blackened, about 2-5 minutes.
Turn the filets and drizzle with the remaining butter.
Continue cooking until the salmon has blackened and the fish has easily flaked apart with a fork.
Serve hot.
