When you order from a Chinese restaurant, it’s almost inevitable that you’ll order Beef and Broccoli. How can you not? It’s too delicious to pass on! The beef is saturated in a tangy, savory, and sweet sauce, and the broccoli adds a touch of freshness, color, and crunch. Beef and Broccoli isn’t hard to make in your own kitchen—in fact, it can take less time than ordering delivery! You can have delivery-quality food made fresh without even breaking a sweat!

Ingredients

1 tablespoon canola oil
1 tablespoon fresh garlic, crushed
1 pound sirloin steaks, thick, boneless, and sliced into 1/4-1/2-inch strips
1 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed tomato soup
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
3 cups fresh broccoli florets
4 cups white rice, optional, steamed

Directions

Step 1

In a medium skillet, heat the canola oil over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Cook the garlic in the hot oil until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Step 3

Add the beef.

Step 4

Lower the stove-top heat to medium.

Step 5

Brown the beef, stirring often, for about 4-6 minutes.

Step 6

In a bowl combine the tomato soup, water, soy sauce, vinegar, and pepper flakes, mixing until incorporated.

Step 7

Add the sauce to the beef mixture and increase the heat to medium-high.

Step 8

Bring the mixture to a low boil.

Step 9

Add the broccoli.

Step 10

Immediately reduce the heat to medium and cook, covered, until the broccoli is tender, about 4-6 minutes. Stir often to avoid sticking.

Step 11

Serve over steamed white rice.
