Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos

Kick your evening off with a bang! Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos star the crispy fried and sweet shrimp coated in a creamy, spicy, jumpingly good sauce! Wrapped in tortillas with plenty of fresh vegetables, these shrimp are unbelievable! Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos only take 35 minutes to make, so you can enjoy them whenever you need something explosively good!


For the sauce:
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup chili sauce
1 teaspoon sriracha sauce
For the shrimp:
1/2 pound shrimp, raw
1 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3/4 cup cornstarch
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
2 cups canola oil
For serving:
3 flour tortillas
1 cup iceberg lettuce
1 cup tomatoes, diced
2 tablespoons sour cream, optional
scallion, optional, to taste
lime, optional, to taste, wedged


Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine the mayo, chili sauce, and sriracha.

Step 2

In a separate large bowl, add the shrimp.

Step 3

Pour the buttermilk and lemon juice over the shrimp and let sit for at least 30 minutes to marinate.

Step 4

Mix together the cornstarch and flour.

Step 5

In a large pan, heat 2 cups of the oil to 375 degrees F.

Step 6

Remove the shrimp from the marinade.

Step 7

Coat the shrimp in the cornstarch and flour mixture.

Step 8

Fry the shrimp in the hot oil for 4 minutes each.

Step 9

Carefully transfer the shrimp to a paper towel to drain.

Step 10

Once the shrimp have been fried and drained, toss them in the Bang Bang sauce, coating thoroughly while they are still hot.

Step 11

Prepare the tortillas with the lettuce, Bang Bang shrimp, diced tomatoes, sour cream, and scallions.

Step 12

Garnish with the lime, and serve.
