Amish Cinnamon Bread
Time: 1 hour and 15 minutes
Yield: 20 servings
How can you tell if it’s a good morning? Is the sun shining? Is the coffee hot and flavored to your liking? Is there a delicate warming aroma of cinnamon wafting through the house? For the latter, a few warm loaves of Amish Cinnamon Bread can provide just that! Every slice is enchanting, swirled with sweetness and spices and soft as only freshly baked bread can be! Good mornings begin with a hot cup of coffee and a slice (or three!) of Amish Cinnamon Bread.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Cream together the butter, 2 cups of the sugar, and the eggs.
Add the buttermilk, flour, and baking soda.
Divide 1/2 of the batter (or a little less) into 2 greased loaf pans, so that there is 1/4 of the batter in each pan.
In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining sugar and cinnamon.
Sprinkle 3/4 of the cinnamon mixture on top of the batter in each pan.
Add the remaining batter to the pans and sprinkle the tops with the last of the cinnamon topping.
Swirl the batter with a knife.
Bake until the loaves are done, about 45-50 minutes.
Cool the loaves in the pans for 20 minutes before removing them from the pan.
