The good news is you’re likely to have these ingredients already lying around, making it super easy to make on the fly. The other good news 4-Ingredient Mac & Cheese is a creamy, sharp dish that everyone loves. In under 30 minutes, you’ll have a cheesy dinnertime classic ready to eat.


1/2 teaspoon salt, optional
1 pound dried elbow macaroni or cavatappi noodles
1 cup heavy cream
6 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
3/4 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
1/2 teaspoon pepper, optional


Step 1

In a large pot bring 4 quarts of water to a boil.

Step 2

Season the water with 2 teaspoons of salt.

Step 3

Cook the pasta in boiling water according to package instructions.

Step 4

While the pasta is cooking, heat the cream in a heavy saucepan or cast-iron skillet over medium heat until the cream begins to bubble.

Step 5

Add in the cheddar and parmesan cheeses along with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper.

Step 6

Stir the cheese sauce until bubbly and the cheese has melted, about 5-7 minutes while stirring often.

Step 7

Once the noodles are cooked, add the drained pasta to the cheese sauce and stir until combined.
